I think that is a pretty good way to make you a little more interested in what I am about to write. Doesn’t give away too much information, but you are probably thinking “What finally happened?” I feel so smart (that is, until one of my teammates tells me that I sound like an idiot when I write in my blog). So, anyway, yesterday we had a meet in Malden Catholic. I broke five minutes in the mile for the first time yesterday! Yup, after three consecutive miles at 5:00.xx, I finally broke it yesterday with a time of 4:55.xx. Uh, yeah. I was so excited about writing this post, and now I have nothing else to say…
Uhhh, yeah, so, we won the meet by a wide margin (I’m not even going to guess on the exact score), even though our top distance guys didn’t even run. This gave a nice opportunity to some of us younger guys. The fab four looked good, with a 4:51 (?) and 4:5 something below 5 and above 1 in the mile, a 2:11 (?) in the 800, and a 11:43 (?) in the two mile, and I think all of those are PRs. So, yeah, it was a really good day for us. I think we won every running event (don’t quote me on that), and I have no clue about the field, although I know we did well.
Anyway, I have no idea what else I should say. The MSTCA (MA Track Coaches Assoc.) meet is on Saturday, but none of us freshmen will be going to that… Ummm… I know I am forgetting something that I am supposed to mention…
Whatever. So, yeah, I broke five minutes in the mile, so MC’s track is now my favorite track. I actually liked it, because it was only 375 meters, so we had to start the race farther back than normal, and the last lap was shorter than normal, which was a good feeling. I felt good yesterday, just like I did on Sunday at the Catholic Schools Invite (see below).
Ohhhhhh! I just remembered what else I was going to say. One of the freshmen on the team who was in the two mile scored in the meet yesterday, before on of the fab four (the one who runs the 800) has scored in a meet (it should be mentioned there were only three people in the two mile and only the top three score in a dual meet). Ahhhhh. Now I feel like I can sign off without feeling like I have forgotten anything! Thank goodness.
Talk at ‘ya later
