Just click here… (I swear it’s not a Rickroll)
I’m sorry, but it just had to be done. When you choose what I did as your title, then you just have to link to that song, right? So, anyway, I have no History homework tonight, so I am actually able to post tonight. It’s hard to find things to write about on nights like tonight, even with the League Meet on Saturday. I mean, what should I write about? Today’s 40 minute run (okay, so I have been known to do that…)?
Anyway, today I am going to talk about what I will be running in the meet on Saturday. Frankly, it is still up in the air, but I do have a preference. Today, coach announced the people in each event, and Mr. I’m Too Good for Winter Track so I’ll play Hockey is probably going to be running in the Frosh/Soph 4 X 400 relay and one mile on Saturday. But, of course, he ran a 10:27 in the two mile the other day, so the obvious choice would be to enter him in the VARSITY two mile. Instead, he’ll be running the FR/SO one mile.
This frustrates me, because it means I am left out of the picture for the 4 X 400. It is the best event in track, and I was part of the FR/SO League Champions in that event during the winter. I dunno how fast Mr. Hockey is in the 400, but I think that Mr. 800 and I should be able to defend our title from the winter (the other two members of that team either don’t run track or will be running varsity). Also, I am clearly not as good as Mr. Hockey, and he should be concentrating on DISTANCE events, not dropping down for a race. If anything, he should double in the mile and two mile.
Call me crazy, but I am insulted that I have not even been given the look for this event. To me, this is an injustice! Not to mention the fact that Mr. Hockey hasn’t run that event before, so it puts the rest of the relay team at risk in terms of them getting the win. I’m sure that he is damn fast, but I feel that I should at least be getting a look here. Of course, I haven’t even begun to make my case against one of the other guys on that team, who I am definitely faster than (my PR from a few months ago is faster than his 59.6)
So, I will conclude my rant with a wish, a wish that Mr. Hockey runs the varsity two mile, which I know will not happen. So, I am going to have to wish and hope and think and pray that coach realizes that I should replace either Mr. Hockey or the other kid (but especially the other kid).
Talk at ‘ya later
