Ahhhhh… Summer (Kind of)

Today was the last day of school (yay!). But, as almost all of you know (except for you high school dropouts), that means that Hell Week begins. No, not that week that includes fraternity initiations on college campuses across the country, but that week of finals at the end of the year. I’m sorry, but today was the last day of school, but it just does not feel like it. It feels like we still have weeks left, even though the true last day of school is Wednesday next.

But, today WAS the nominal last day of school, so it is time to start talking about summer. It has been a great year in track for my freshman year. I’ve met a lot of new people in track (the fab four, and others, you know who you are), and I have found out that I love the sport. The sucky part about going to a private school is that people come from a bunch of different cities, and so you don’t get to see them over the summer, unless you call them. If any of you guys want to call me over the summer, my phone number is 978-930-2459, but since I don’t usually answer my phone, you should probably try 978-927-6810. You guys don’t really seem like beach people, but it can never hurt to get down there during the summer (you know, check out the fair maidens in their summer swimwear). By the way, what ever happened to Freshmen track party? Is that still in the works? (If you forget, you might remember if I mention the D2D Walk, we planned that) :)

Now that I am done with all the stuff directed at my fellow freshmen teammates, I’ll go with some general stuff. The Division I State Championship Meet was last Friday, but it was at freakin’ two o’clock. What the f***? What if I wanted to go to that? I couldn’t because we didn’t get out of school until 2:30! Plus, the venue for the meet is an hour away, and my dad and I had to pick up my sister at three. So, that means we wouldn’t get there until two hours after it started. What the hell was the MIAA thinking here? Didn’t they want to get some spectators? Hmph. I will NEVER understand the MIAA or the NCAA or any Interscholastic Athletic association. They are SO freakin’ stupid. We came in sixth, by the way, which isn’t too bad I guess.

And that concludes the rant portion of this entry. So, anyway, I am pretty excited about the summer. I haven’t as much as spoken to any of my dawgs (that’s what the young people say) from my hometown since last summer. It is very disappointing. I have to go down to the beach with them, too. Ah, wouldn’t it be nice to unite my old homies (young people, again) with my new dawgs? I think that would be great, but it never seems to work out that way (of course, one of the new guys is from Danvers, MA, which is archrivals with the city with the best beaches, Gloucester, MA, so he wouldn’t be able to come). But how I miss my old boyz (young people), and I cannot wait to reunite with them.

Wish me luck on my World History Final, as I am going to need it. Oh, and by the way, I’ll try and use Facebook, but my computer doesn’t seem to like it, so I dunno….

Talk at ‘ya later.
